MICHAEL BARTOLI is an actor, singer and acting coach trained in various theatrical disciplines.  He holds a BFA in Musical Theatre from Syracuse University and an MFA in Classical Acting from The Shakespeare Theatre Company’s Academy for Classical Acting at GWU,.  There he appeared in rep productions of Pericles and Women Beware Women.  In 2018 Michael appeared Off-Broadway in A Letter to Harvey Milk, as Harvey and can be heard on the original cast recording.  Recent roles include Dorsey in WCSU’s award winning production of Parade¸  as well as roles in Hamlet (Round Table Theatre Company) and The Seagull (Wandering Bark Theatre Company), Midsummer Night's Dream and King Lear (ShakespeareNYC).

In the past, Michael appeared in the National Tour of Joseph/Dreamcoat (Starring Patrick Cassidy and Deborah Gibson) as well as the Paper Mill Playhouse production.  He has appeared Off-Broadway in Forbidden Broadway Cleans Up Its Act, Forbidden Broadway Strikes Back, and Columbus.  Other regional and stock credits include As You Like It, Present Laughter, 1940s Radio Hour, Going Hollywood, Annie and many others. 

Michael also conceived and developed two one-man shows, Come On and Hear and I’m Old Fashioned, celebrating the Great American Songbook, which have been presented in various cabaret venues and for various cruise lines.  He also appeared in a joint venture between ShakespeareNYC and Heliotrope Shakespeare Productions in King Lear (Albany) and Midsummer Night’s Dream (Peter Quince) for a series of downloadable video books (Vooks), now available for sale online.  

Michael offers private coaching specializing in Shakespeare and Classical acting in a no-nonsense approach he calls "It's Just Shakespeare."  He teaches at Western Connecticute State University and Manhattanville College teaching acting, musical theatre, and voice and speech.
